Welcome to SEPTA Watch.

I have no ties to SEPTA, TWU, the city of Philadelphia, or any other related agencies. I'm just a railfan who happens to enjoy writing about trains (and buses, too).

Here's what you'll see on SEPTA Watch:

• Stories about major construction projects.
• Stories about new technology like CBTC and Silverliner V cars.
• Major breaking news like the November 2009 City Transit strike.
• Posts about public transit in the Delaware Valley that will impact SEPTA and Philadelphia in one way or another.
• Posts about NJ Transit or PATCO which are related to Philadelphia.
• Historic stories of note, like the 25th anniversary of the Center City Commuter Tunnel.
• General criticism of poor decisions on SEPTA's part.

Here's what you WON'T see on SEPTA Watch:

• Delays. There's a place for that, and delays don't make good blog posts.
• New schedules. These happen regularly and aren't newsworthy or unexpected.
• Unremarkable inconvenience stories. Those should go to our friends over at SEPTA fail.
• Stories which are only remotely related to SEPTA, such as people taking the subway to the Mummer's Parade.
