Not defending their violations, but I think it’s important to have some perspective on the safety of those buses: they’re still statistically safer than driving the same route.

I’ll just re-post what I put on Facebook, this article should’ve been titled:

“Travel writer fails to plan weekend trip; goes to far-flung, out-of-the-way attractions at the end of the day; fails to see clearly marked bus stops; thinks that online system should tell her whether she should board a bus going with or against her intended travel direction; somehow blames Septa for her not realizing that the Urban Outfitters in the Navy Yard is the headquarters, likewise not realizing she boarded the subway only a few blocks from their flagship stores; and is, above all, an idiot.”

There were a few Septa fails, too, but mostly she’s just incredibly, incredibly incompetent.

Nice…
But come on.. It won’t happen. Just like the ACC Tower Failure on 18th and arch. And the Disney Hole now still a parking lot. I am a citizen that wants this cool park.. but philly never moves on anything, if they wanted it they be outside right now working on it.. it’s been a thought since 2008.. it’s 2012.. it won’t happen. Sorry to be a downer… I live right near the viaduct, I want it…

I read the articles regarding the bad weekend for SEPTA bus drivers and I truly feel sorry about what happened to them. However, this morning the person driving bus #5648 was driving down Chestnut Street like a bat out of hell. Granted, there were no passengers on the bus, but the driver was moving at a rather high rate of speed and was weaving in and out of traffic as if he was driving a small vehicle or a race car or something. Should a bus be in the far left lane if it is not turning left? The lane switching was frightening to watch. I must say that the driver did not hit or hurt anyone, but I was appalled at the rate of speed that bus was travelling and how the driver was shifting lanes so recklessly.. Overall, I think our drivers are some of the best in the US, but this driver was just too careless for this passenger. By the way, I was NOT on a bus while I was watching #5648.

Well, you’re not an artist, so naturally i wouldn’t expect anything positive. It would kill you to say something nice.

I think it’s fabulous. It’s great to see that SEPTA knows an artist when they see one.
