The strike is over but the details aren’t public yet.
We do know that the transit police can expect an 11.5% raise over 5 years and a nice $1250 bonus.
But the question remains, did the transit police get their 50 cents/hr raise for “certification” pay or did they agree to SEPTA’s offer of 15 cents/hr?
More than 200 SEPTA Transit Police officers went on strike at 2 pm today.
Philadelphia Police Department will respond to any criminal activity on buses, trains, or trolleys. We will follow up with additional information as it becomes available.

We have an agreement with the Philadelphia Police Department to immediately begin periodic checks of our stations and vehicles 24 hours a day, with an increase presence at our key stations during school dismissal between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm and during rush hour.
